Acupressure for Good Health
Acupressure is the application of finger pressure on specific energy points on the body for health care. These points are acupuncture points or acupoints.
Shiatsu is a form of acupressure and massage therapy. It helps to active our life energy to stimulate the vital energy when it's stagnated. This helps to regulate energy flow and blood flow for better health.
The difference between acupressure and acupuncture is the only a limited amount of pressure points can be stimulated with acupressure whereas a lot more can be stimulated with acupuncture needles./p>
Benefits of acupressure therapy can be applied to yourself or your loved ones for conditions such as muscle tension, motion sickness, back pain, neck pain, headaches and sciatica.
How to do acupressure
To perform acupressure on yourself, friends or family, apply pressure using your index finger on an area on the body that has tension and pain, for example. Rotate your index finger in a clockwise fashion on the point and apply pressure to massage the muscle to relax.
Research using clinical trials has shown that acupressure can work for a variety of health problems, such as induce labour, relieve pain, headaches, and treat nausea and vomiting especially in pregnant women.
Dr (TCM) Attilio D'Alberto graduated from Beijing University in China and has over 14 years of practicing acupressure in London.
