Ovarian rejuvenation is the latest assisted fertility technology that uses stem cells which are injected into a woman's ovaries to help them produce eggs.
This fertility treatment is very new and still in its early days of development. Yet it promises to be an exciting and amazing way of helping older women peel back time to having younger ovaries and the chances of being pregnant and having a baby.
Stem cells taken from the woman's menstrual bleed are injected directly into the ovaries and sometimes the uterus lining to help promote the production of eggs, which can then be fertilised to produce a baby.
How long does it take?
Once the stem cells have been injected into the woman, she has to wait 3-6 months to see if the treatment has worked. Blood tests are taken every couples of months to check the results. These blood tests include FSH and AMH levels.
