Acupuncture regulates the menstrual cycle
The secret to good fertility is to have a regulated menstrual cycle. By having a regulated menstrual cycle, fertility hormones are regulated and more importantly are working in sync together.
A woman's menstrual cycle is made up of 2 cycles, the ovary cycle and the uterus cycle. When both of these cycles are working in time with each other, fertility is greatly enhanced. Often it's just getting these cycles regulated together that's enough to allow a woman to fall pregnant.
Acupuncture is very good at regulating the menstrual cycle. It does this in several ways:
- Regulation of the hypothalamus, which then regulates the pituitary gland and it's release of fertility hormones
- Regulation of the female hormone oestrogens
- Regulation of AMH levels
- Regulation of insulin, which normalises testosterone levels
Emotions such as stress can make the menstrual cycle irregular by increasing levels of stress hormones such as cortisone, which then affect the pituitary gland's release of fertility hormones. Acupuncture reduces stress, which then allows the hormones to normalise and balance themselves out, leading to better fertility.
