Acupuncture before or after exercise?

Yes, you can work out and weight lift after having acupuncture treatment.

However, if you feel light-headed, dizzy or tired then you should not exercise after your acupuncture session. Instead have something to eat, rest or have a nap. I wouldn't recommend exercising whilst on your menstrual cycle.

Exercising after having treatment can aid the flow of energy and blood and assist in the acupuncture treatment. A good exercise to reinforce the relaxing effects of acupuncture is yoga or Pilates.

Try not to have a heavy meal or any processed foods 24 hours after your treatment.

Should you rest after acupuncture

You don't have to rest after having acupuncture, but it can be of benefit to your health if you do. Acupuncture helps you to relax and rebalances your body. Resting after acupuncture carrys on these benefits, helping to rest an active mind and stressful body.
