Moxibustion turns a breech presentation and prevents a caesarean section
A modelling study to estimate the effectiveness and costs of breech version with acupuncture-type interventions, including moxibustion, on BL 67 compared to expectant management for women with a foetal breech presentation at 33 weeks gestation.
The results suggested that such an intervention would reduce the number of breech presentations at term, thus reducing the number of caesarean sections, and so would be cost-effective compared to expectant management, including external cephalic version.
