1. Overview
CV 15 — Jiū Wěi (鸠尾) — also known as Ren 15, is the Luo-Connecting point of the Conception Vessel (Ren Mai). It is one of the most powerful Shen-calming and Heart-clearing points in acupuncture.
I am Dr (TCM) Attilio D’Alberto, a member of the British Acupuncture Council with over 25 years of clinical experience. I use CV 15 as part of individually tailored acupuncture prescriptions at my clinic in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Oblique insertion downward 0.3–0.5 cun. Caution: the xiphoid process is just above; perpendicular deep insertion is contraindicated.
6. Clinical notes
CV 15 is a deeply settling point that anchors the Shen when the Heart is overburdened. I use it when the patient describes “not knowing how to settle” or feels emotionally tipped over the edge by everyday demands. It is often paired with CV 17 just above for severe anxiety with chest oppression and HT 7 for the full Heart-anchoring effect.
7. Treatment at my clinic
I use CV 15 for treatment-resistant anxiety, palpitation-driven panic, cardiac neurosis, atypical chest pain and selected presentations of bipolar instability. Book a consultation in Wokingham, Berkshire.
