GB 24 — Rì Yuè (日月) — Sun and Moon
GB 24 (Ri Yue, “Sun and Moon”) is the front-mu (gathering) point of the Gallbladder. Located on the chest below the nipple at the 7th intercostal space, it is the principal point for Gallbladder pathology including cholecystitis, gallstones, hypochondriac pain and bitter taste.

1. About GB 24 (Ri Yue)
GB 24 — Rì Yuè — is the front-mu point of the Gallbladder and a meeting point of the Spleen and Gallbladder channels. As the front-mu, it is where the Qi of the Gallbladder gathers on the front of the body, making it diagnostically tender in Gallbladder disorders and therapeutically powerful for them.
2. GB 24 location
Directly below LV 14, in the 7th intercostal space (one rib below LV 14, which is in the 6th intercostal space). Below the nipple in men; below the midclavicular line in women.

6. Clinical notes
The front-mu and back-shu combination of GB 24 and BL 19 (Dan Shu) is the classical pair for Gallbladder pathology. GB 24 is often used with LV 14 (the front-mu of the Liver) since the two organs work together; the pair addresses combined Liver-Gallbladder Damp-Heat.
7. Treatment at my clinic
I use GB 24 within tailored acupuncture prescriptions for gallstone pain, cholecystitis, GORD and Liver-Gallbladder Damp-Heat patterns. I see patients at my clinic in Wokingham, Berkshire.
