1. Overview
GB 9 — Tiān Chōng (天冲) — is an acupuncture point on the Gallbladder meridian. Its English name, Heavenly Rushing, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used in acupuncture practice as part of channel-balancing prescriptions for a range of conditions.

2. Location
Above the ear, in the depression0.5 cun posterior to GB-8 Shuaigu.

5. Needling
Transverse insertion, 0.5-1.5 cun. Note: This point may be needled in any direction. Direction depends on the symptomology. Direct the needle towards the point of pain, or join to other head points.
Important: Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner. Never attempt self-needling. All needles I use are sterile, single-use and disposed of immediately after treatment in a clinical sharps container.
