1. Overview
GV 18 — Qiáng Jiān (强间) — is an acupuncture point on the Governing Vessel (Du Mai). Its English name, Unyielding Space, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used in acupuncture practice as part of channel-balancing prescriptions for a range of conditions.

2. Location
4 cun directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline, 1.5 cun above to GV-17 Naohu.

4. Indications
- Headache
- Neck stiffness with an inability to turn the head
- Dizziness with agitation
- Nausea
- Vomiting of foamy or watery saliva
- Clonic spasm
- Blurred vision
- Mania-depression
- Epilepsy
5. Needling
Transverse insertion, 0.5 - 1 cun.
Important: Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner. Never attempt self-needling. All needles I use are sterile, single-use and disposed of immediately after treatment in a clinical sharps container.
