1. Overview
KD 8 — Jiāo Xìn (交信) — is an acupuncture point on the Kidney meridian. Its English name, Intersection Reach, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used regularly in acupuncture practice for a range of conditions.

2. Location
2 cun above KD 3, 0.5 cun anterior to KD 7, posterior to the medial border of the tibia.
3. Actions
- Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Qiao Mai — for acute disorders of this vessel

4. Indications
- Irregular menstruation and uterine bleeding — Xi-Cleft of the Yin Qiao Mai
- Dysmenorrhoea
- Constipation and diarrhoea
- Orchitis and testicular pain
- Medial ankle pain
5. Needling
Perpendicular insertion 0.8–1.0 cun.
Important: Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner. All needles I use are sterile, single-use and disposed of in a clinical sharps container immediately after treatment.
6. Clinical notes
KD 8 is the Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Qiao Mai (Yin Heel Vessel). Xi-Cleft points are used for acute and painful conditions of their vessel. The Yin Qiao Mai governs the medial aspect of the lower limb and connects to the uterus, making KD 8 relevant for acute uterine bleeding and dysmenorrhoea. Combined with KD 6 (opening point of the Yin Qiao Mai) for comprehensive Yin Qiao treatment.
