6. Clinical notes
KD 9 is the Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Wei Mai (Yin Linking Vessel). It has a classical reputation for calming extreme mental disturbance and is used in detoxification protocols. In modern practice it is used in NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) protocols for addiction alongside ear points. Its Yin Wei Mai connection makes it important for all Yin Wei Mai disorders including heart pain and depression.
