1. Overview
SP 11 — Jī Mén (箕门) — is an acupuncture point on the Spleen meridian. Its English name, Winnowing Gate, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used in acupuncture practice as part of channel-balancing prescriptions for a range of conditions.

2. Location
6 cun above SP-10 Xuehai, on the medial aspect of the sartorius muscle.

4. Indications
- Painful urinary dysfunction
- Retention of urine
- Obstructed urination
- Enuresis
- Dysuria
- Urethritis
- Inguinal lymphadenitis
- Eczema of the scrotum
- Damp-itching of the external genitalia
5. Needling
Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.
Important: Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner. Never attempt self-needling. All needles I use are sterile, single-use and disposed of immediately after treatment in a clinical sharps container.
