1. Overview
TB 11 — Qīng Lěng Yuān (清冷渊) — is an acupuncture point on the Triple Burner meridian (San Jiao). Its English name, Clear Cold Abyss, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used in acupuncture practice as part of channel-balancing prescriptions for a range of conditions.

2. Location
With the elbow flexed, this point is located 1 cun proximal to TB-10 Tianjing.

- Activates the channel
- Dispels Wind-Damp

4. Indications
- Headache
- Heaviness of the head with submandibular pain
- Eye pain
- Yellow eyes
- Pain of the lateral costal region
- Jaundice
- Difficulty raising the shoulder and harm and putting on clothes
- Bi Syndrome of the shoulder and arm
- Fixed Bi
5. Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun.
Important: Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner. Never attempt self-needling. All needles I use are sterile, single-use and disposed of immediately after treatment in a clinical sharps container.
