1. Overview
TB 12 — Xiāo Luò (消泺) — is an acupuncture point on the Triple Burner meridian (San Jiao). Its English name, Dispersing Luo River, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used in acupuncture practice as part of channel-balancing prescriptions for a range of conditions.
I am Dr (TCM) Attilio D’Alberto, a member of the British Acupuncture Council with over 25 years of clinical experience. I use TB 12 as part of individually tailored acupuncture prescriptions at my clinic in Wokingham, Berkshire.
2. Location
On the upper arm, on a line drawn between TB-10 Tianjing and TB-14 Jianliao, 4 cun proximal to TB-10 Tianjing and 6 cun distal to TB-14 Jianliao. Note: divide the distance between TB-10 Tianjing and TB-14 Jianliao in half and locate the point 1 cun distal to the midpoint or locate the depression within the triceps muscle, posterior to the shaft of the humerus (between the bellies of the long and lateral heads of the triceps).
