Bai Tou Weng Tang — Pulsatilla Decoction
On this page
What is Bai Tou Weng Tang?
Bai Tou Weng Tang — Pulsatilla Decoction — is a classical Shang Han Lun formula for damp-heat dysentery. It is one of the most important formulas in Chinese herbal medicine for the kind of bloody, mucoid, foul-smelling diarrhoea seen in acute bacterial dysentery, amoebic colitis and ulcerative colitis flares with heat features.
I prescribe Bai Tou Weng Tang as part of bespoke herbal formulas from pharmaceutical-grade granules sourced from Sun Ten in Taiwan.
Bai Tou Weng Tang TCM pattern
