On this page
1. Overview
LU 10 — Yú Jì (鱼际) — is the Ying-Spring and Fire point of the Lung meridian. As the Fire point on a Metal channel it specifically clears Heat from the Lungs, making it one of the most reliable points in acupuncture for acute sore throat with heat features.
I am Dr (TCM) Attilio D’Alberto, a member of the British Acupuncture Council with over 25 years of clinical experience. I use LU 10 as part of individually tailored acupuncture prescriptions at my clinic in Wokingham, Berkshire.

6. Clinical notes
LU 10 paired with LU 11 is the classical combination for acute sore throat. For chronic hoarseness in vocal professionals I combine LU 10 with CV 23 and KD 3. As a Fire point it is also useful for emotional heat manifesting in the chest.
7. Treatment at my clinic
I use LU 10 for acute and chronic throat conditions, post-viral hoarseness, vocal strain in performers and teachers, and asthma with heat features. Book a consultation in Wokingham, Berkshire.
